When access to nourishment is uncertain, everything else becomes harder to sustain. The reduction of SNAP benefits has left many families facing food insecurity and impossible choices between essentials. At Cookie and Jean, we believe nourishment is dignity — which is why we’ve directed our recent giving toward organizations that provide meals, stability, and hope to those most affected.
Our giving this season focused on organizations working at the front lines of hunger relief. We partnered with Share Food Program, and other food insecurity initiatives, which collectively offer free, supplemental food to anyone in need, including citywide distribution programs that deliver groceries and fresh produce to vulnerable neighbors across Philadelphia and surrounding communities. These initiatives, led by volunteers and nonprofit organizations, work tirelessly to combat hunger and food insecurity through shared resources and consistent outreach.
By directing our funds here, we aimed to strengthen existing networks of care and remind every household that compassion still has a place at the table.
